Keeping “The Dream” Alive

Kim dancing at one of our parties Approximately one year and a half before Brenda succumbed to cancer, she hired Ms. Kimberly D. Miller to serve as her assistant. She fully described her “Dream” to Kim and told her that it would take her a minimum of six months to learn how to do things the Elesy Manor way. It was very important for Brenda to know that Kim was going to fully embrace her "Dream" methods of caring for her residence.

Kim learned her lessons well. She wholeheartedly embraced “The Dream” and it wasn't long before she started putting her personal touches on the Elesy Manor quest to constantly improve the processes in place to provide the best care possible for Elesy Manor residents.

When Brenda was no longer able to “captain the ship” Kim took the "wheel" and accepted the “captains" role. She heaped copious amounts of tender loving care on all of our residents. She maximized the philosophy inherent in the Elesy Manor Mission Statement. She continued the excellent relations with all county, state and other governmental officials. She maintained excellent relations with the staff as well as the families.

In addition to the spiritual, social and mental activities that were already in place as part of “The Dream” Kim revealed an extraordinary amount of unique talent by planning and implementing additional activities that would improve the activities process. She started the quarterly theme events and she increased staff involvement in additional activities for the residents. In short, Kim has been very successful in making sure that the administrative functions inherent in “The Dream” would not miss a beat.

Kim has done an outstanding job of keeping “The Dream” alive during the last two years and I have no doubt that Brenda's “Dream” will live on for years to come with Kim at the administrative helm.
